Embrace Your Lane

By: Evelyn Koffi

On May 25th, Media Mogul, Philanthropist, and Award-Winning daytime talk show host, Oprah Winfrey, held her show finale During the show she shared with the audience lessons that she learned throughout her 25 years of being in the business. One of the greatest lessons that she gave me was the ability to recognize and embrace your unique lane.

We all have a unique path that God has given us and  your lane is like none other. It can never be created by man, nor can it be duplicated. Your lane, is yours and yours alone. What may have worked for others may not necessarily work for you. Embracing and focusing on your God-given lane will allow you to become the master, rather than the passenger. It is one that is of remarkable significance to the universe. The beauty of an individual lane is that it allows bars to be broken, and benchmarks to be set. When we think of masters of life we think of individuals such as  Michael Jordan, Oprah, Bill Gates, and Steve Jobs. All of these individuals recognized their uniqueness and relevance to the world as a whole and aided in progressing and improving the world as we know it.

Your lane is one of relevance to the world as well; for there are goals that have not yet been touched. Understanding this will cause you to realized how impossible it is to compare your path with someone else’s. The fact of the matter is that no one can walk in your shoes like you can. So as you travel through life, remember that your lane is unique and that the perfection of your lane is relevant to humanity.
