Latinas UPlifting Latinas!
On January 3rd, the 1st Annual League of Extraordinary Latinas dinner took place. The dinner was held at Distilled NY in Tribeca, NYC to honor two special Latinas for their contributions to the Latino community. I feel fortunate to have taken part in the celebration and to be a witness to the beginning of a powerful mission through a beautiful organization. The evening was filled with empowerment and unity as women with the same goals and from all fields- education, fashion, entertainment, publicity- came together for the launch of #LOEXL The League of Extraordinary Latinas was founded by Claudia Mora to empower young Latinas to strive for excellence in philanthropy and education, to overcome stereotypes, build meaningful relationships for success, and build self esteem. The evening's honored guests were TV personality Jewelz Lopez, honored for opening the doors for Latinos in entertainment and high school student Karlee Roman for mentoring young children.
The event sponsors included Ciroc Latino and Maybelline; great branding partners if you tell me to introduce an organization. Attendees included Fashion Editor of Latina Magazine Verky Acros, Executive Producer of VH1 MOB Wives Nina Diaz, AVP Maybelline NY Dan Villaroel, COO of Telemundo Jacqueline Hernandez, Celebrity Hip Hop Photographer Johnny Nunez, Recording artist Eli Jas, Nati from Conrazon, Syracuse Alum and Founder of Achieve For Success Christine Padilla and Online Editor of Cosmo for Latinas Ariel Nagi among others.
I am looking forward being a part of the growth of something very special. #LOEXL
