Harlem's Fashion Row 7th Annual Fashion Show & Style Awards
On Saturday, September 6th, Harlem’s Fashion Row, the leading platform for emerging designers of color, celebrated 7 years with its 7th annual Fashion Show & Style Awards during New York Fashion Week.
Presented by Prudential, Pandora and Design Essentials, the night started off with the Style Awards honoring those individuals who have paved the way in bringing color and diversity to the fashion industry. Most notably was HFR’s ICON 360 Award Recipient, the legendary supermodel Beverly Johnson, presented by Keisha Holland of Pandora Jewelry. Celebrating her 40th year anniversary as the first black model to grace the cover of Vogue Magazine in 1974, Beverly Johnson singlehandedly changed the face of fashion.
Honorees included: Journalist, lifestyle expert, and former Editor-At-Large at Essence Magazine, Emil Wilbekin, Designer Of the Year recipient Byron Lars, founder of Byron Lars Beauty Mark, Journalist Of The Year, Huffington Post’s Julee Wilson, Fashion Publicist of the Year Umindi Francis, Founder/CEO Umindi Francis Consulting Group, and Celebrity Stylist Of The Year Award Recipient Wouri Vice.
After the awards, the show included the work and collections of Beauty Mark designer Byron Lars, Harlem Haberdashery, UK Womenswear line Josh and Nicole, and ready to wear line K. Milele. See some of the photos of the impressive show.
