Art Talk With SeeSantana: Jokes On You

he first time I exhibited this piece was at my very first solo show at Shervin's Cafe in the Lower East Side last December. I was at a roller coaster for a ride at the point of my life. Three plane tickets my way, a ridiculous love affair and the freedom of the world chilled my cheeks. As ecstatic as I seemed to be, this graphic designed piece was still dark in nature although vibrant in color. Looking back at it now, maybe subconsciously I was feeling trapped at the time as if I allowed the world to take control of me before I caught a grasp. I was living fast and that sense of freedom is known to kill. I laughed a lot during those days but now the joke was really on me, as all the small riches withered away as fast as they came.
