"Confidence is like a muscle, the more you use it, the stronger it gets"

Self-doubt is the root of our issues with self-confidence.  Self-confidence is an essential characteristic for mental discipline, growth and success. An individuals self-confidence directly influences the perception of the self, and thus how one perceives oneself is how others will perceive you. The energy that YOU put out of YOURSELF, is what your life reciprocates. Whenever I walk in a room, I think about my output; I think about the frequency that I give off. Most recently, I had the opportunity to meet celebrity stylist and costume designer  Brea "B-Star" Stinson. Her styling career has enabled her to help people feel confident about themselves and their image. Some of her past clients include: Usher, Jay-Z, Keri Hilson, Rita Ora, Ginuwine, and Raheem DeVaughn. It's beautiful that stylists like Brea can help others build their outer light.

During my conversation with Brea she shared her 8 traits of a confident woman:

1. Operate in truth; stay true to your style, that's how you're going to seal the deal...

2. Celebrate yourself OUTLOUD; when people know how you feel about your greatness they'll know how to treat you...

3. Acknowledging there's always room for improvement

4. Knowing when to ask for help; it's ok to bring people in on a project...

5. Allows support to come in; gives you a chance to repaint your picture...

6. Constantly keeps the ego in check; remember that everyone brings something special...

7. Acknowledge your community publicly and privately.

8. Keep your lip gloss on; remind yourself what you look like on your best/don't let it smear in the workplace...
