Meet Cleveland's cool girl, Kylan. The Heart & Sole blogger (a street wear boutique in Cleveland), and Cipher Sunday event host is one of the most stylish people on the scene. Kylan's charming personality and creative, genuine vibe exudes an energy that few people on the scene embody. Her energy and potential speak for itself. Kylan's contribution to the Cleveland culture makes her a young millennial woman with a super bright future ahead of her.
What are some of the events you've curated in Cleveland?
The first event I curated was Cypher Sunday's. It was a platform for up and coming hip-hop artists to display their talent. Since then I've been apart of many parties such as Courtesy Of, AnimalxHouse and Flava.
What inspires your passion to create?
The fact that there's not a lot of women that do it in Ohio. There's like a small percentage of ladies that are into the entertainment industry here and I love that people are able to look to me for a good time.
What is the most important lesson being a young millennial woman in the arts has taught you?
If you want to be successful in this industry you have to know how to be patient. You also have to break out of your comfort zone. Which means striking up conversations, meeting new people aka networking. And in the process you may lose friends, people may say you change but it all comes with the territory.
What next for your career?
The sky is the limit for me. I see myself getting into photography and videography more. I have a project in the works but I don't want to speak on what it is exactly until more of the pieces are put together. You'll have to stay tuned!
What advice would you give to a young millennial woman?
Don't be afraid to use social media as a tool. Depending on how you use it, it is a direct reflection of you. It can either help or hurt your career. Without social media, I wouldn't even be here giving you this advice..
