6 Latinx Businesses To Support On Our Heritage Month

Latinas are one of the most diverse groups across the world and a driving force in new economies. Our businesses employ over 3 million people and account for 4% of U.S. business revenues and 5.5% of U.S. employment. Specifically, Latina-majority owned businesses have seen at least 87% growth over the past five years. It’s pretty daunting to read these statistics while knowing that we are still the most underpaid group in corporate America (S/O to the organizers Latina Equal Pay Day). Betting on yourself can actually yield much larger results in what we can achieve in this lifetime, and on our terms. As I continue to evolve Fearless Leon, I fill myself with stories of entrepreneurial women who use their brilliance and power to build their their own tables and economic freedoms all while uplifting our heritage for generations to come.

Here’s our list of Latinx owned businesses that we admire for their courage, curiosity and story.

1

Port Do Bras

The emerging athleisure brand is based in Venezuela, with a vision to help the war-stricken women of Caracas by providing them with jobs and a livable wage. Every piece is designed from 100 percent biodegradable fabrics sourced from Brazil.

This ballet inspired line makes our wellness routines simultaneously intentional and sculpture-like 🙌🏽

2

Luna Magic

This Los Angeles based brand was started by two Dominican sisters and aims to add vibrancy and flavor to the beauty industry. We admire how they integrate the richness of the Caribbean & Latin America in their high performance cosmetics.

3

ICE TEES

Founded by Bolivian fashion designer Fera Schmdt, ICE TEES began in 2013, as a graphic tee shop that has now evolved into an international Ready-To-Wear line that pushes traditional design codes and mixes cultural references and street sensibility with a global vision. We admire her comfortable street wear meets high fashion approach.

4

House of Puff

House of Puff provides aesthetically pleasing accessories to live your life unapologetically and actively supports roots and legislation in the cannabis industry for generational wealth in Black and Latino communities.

5

Xula

Founded by Mennlay Golokeh Aggrey & Karina Primelles, Xula is Latinx & Black owned born in Mexico city out of the founder's mutual respect for the cannabis plant.

We love how Xula infuses ancestral remedies and caters to the modern woman and our needs.

6

Salut

Whether your idea of unwinding involves a glass of wine or a mocktail, Salut is the perfect brand for your weekends. Salut's products are mocktail & cocktail friendly, these infused drinks are made from functional dried fruits & herbs that are pre-measured for easier prep.
